Based in New York, ready to travel.
I’m an introverted, mushy, hope(ful) romantic with a voracious desire to document life’s beauty wherever I see it.
What started in a high school classroom, and took flight after having my son when I realized how fast time flies, my love for being behind the camera has now blossomed into the most rewarding career. Every person I photograph is so unique and special, so preserving the raw, real, and authentic moments is the core of my work. I am always drawn to the stories and emotions that come out of each wedding day. Capturing the little moments that bring two people together for a life time and entwining each detail that brings every photograph to life.
It’s easy to get caught up in internet trends, pinterest board weddings, or listening to your [insert name here] tell you all the things you HAVE to do at your wedding, but I’ll be the first to tell you to ignore it all. take a moment to think about who you are as a couple, and what is important to you on your wedding day. You want to look back on your day and know that it is unquestionably you.
my approach
Take away the heavy editing and the over-directing and posing of every shot – and you're left with a genuine retelling of a moment.
I will be your biggest advocate for doing your wedding day YOUR way. Timelines are a great way guide, but if your ceremony is running late because you want a few moments with your significant other, then we’re doing that. If family portraits go longer because your auntie can’t stop hugging you and expressing how happy she is for you, you better soak up those moments. You want to look back at your photos with the same feelings you experienced the day of, so you won’t find me rushing or interrupting you to move to the next part of the day.
My main priorities when capturing a wedding day are:
By not interrupting any moments, and allowing the day to flow naturally as it is, it allows me to capture your day organically. I may lead and re-direct to better light so the photos themselves can look as beautiful as possible BUT, that’s really it. I know not everyone is used to being followed around with a camera all day, which is why having a good relationship with your photographer is so important! That way it’s more like I’m just a friend with a camera capturing all the moments as they happen. I understand that there is a time and place for direction and posing (think, family photos) but I focus more on shooting with intention, while capturing all the in between moments!
When editing your photos I keep one thing in mind — I want you to be able to look back at your photos decades from now and it feel like a window into the past. So I edit with true to life tones, with a cinematic, film like feel. There is nothing wrong with trendy edits, it’s just not my style. I am however a HUGE sucker for black + white images, there’s just something so emotion invoking about them, so expect to see a bunch in your gallery (don’t worry I’ll provide a color version if it needs it)
